Basking in the sun

This little kitten of ours reminded me today of how we take little things for granted. She found a little ray of sunshine, played a little while, and then decided to take a warm nap. Oh, if only we could be so content in our lives.

Thanksgiving

I just wanted to thank the Lord. He has been so good to us this year. We have went through a lot of trials and tribulation this year but looking back we can see His hand in everything. Our biggest blessing came this week. With all my medical bills and daily medications David and I did not know how we were going to have Christmas this year. I know that Christmas is not all about gifts and what you can get but I do think God wants us to enjoy the birth of His Son. David had been trying to get a second job but nothing seemed to be working out. I really felt like the boys and Maggie needed their dad at home as much as possible. I told the Lord if David did not get a second job that it was fine and we would do something else for Christmas. On Monday David's president of the company called him into his office. David said he thought he was going to be laid off. This company lays off a lot of people this time of year. Instead God provided us our Christmas money. I am not posting this too brag. God is good. Even when we least expect it God comes through. I give Him all the glory and praise. I want to thank the Lord also for my health, my wonderful husband, and four beautiful children. God's Mercies are new every morning.

Our New Baby

This is our new baby, Pheobe. This is the greek name for happiness. She has brought a lot of happiness to our home. Pheobe is nine weeks old but looks more like 5-6 weeks. She was the runt of the litter. As you can tell she is almost small enough to fit in Jacob's shirt pocket. Pheobe is going to be our great mouse hunter if the mice do not get to her first. Ha Ha. The story behind her is really cute. I have been looking for about 2 months, off and on,for a kitten but no one seemed to have one. Yesterday I had David call an old ad and the lady had five kittens. David told the lady we would like a calico female. She said she would save it for us. When we arrived at her house the lady said her girls wanted to keep her. Maggie looked at the oldest girl and said "May I pwease have this kitten." The girl looked at Maggie and said no for her to pick another. Maggie looked at her with her big brown eyes and said "But I love this one. Pwease can I have her. The girl took the kitten in the other room and said no. By then I was ready to leave without one. I thought how mean. We were ready to go and the girl said "I really don't need another cat. You can have her. Isn't the Lord good? Maggie has been begging for a long time for a kitten. The Lord listens to the prayers of children.
