Beautiful and Colorful Postcards

I just received this box of beautiful post cards. The box is of a high and sturdy quality paper. The inside of the box has fifty attractive postcards. Each postcard has the birds common and latin name. The post cards are divided by cards with tabs that tell the different kinds of birds. These postcards are almost too pretty to use. 

  The only drawback I found was that the cards in my box were all mixed up. They were not divided under the right catagory. I also think it would have been nice if the author had put on the cards where each bird was native too.

A Nantucket Whale of a Tale

  Phoebe's Light is a new series by Suzanne Woods Fisher. This story is about a girl named Phoebe who wanted more than anything to be loved and appreciated by a man. Phoebe also needed to find out a way to get out of debt from her father's failed inventions. When she finds out that her father has lost their house to bad decisions the only thing that Phoebe can think of is to marry the rich sea captain that has always treated her well. 

   Phoebe is a girl trying to find her way in this world. After she marries the Captain, that she feels like she loves, Phoebe thinks that life could not get any better than traveling all over the world with her husband. Right after the voyage begins Phoebe finds out she has been foolish. Nothing is the same as her dreams. When she finds out what her husband is really like and why he wants the diary of her great grandmother, Phoebe must rely on the wisdom of God and the diary from her great grandmother.

  I really enjoyed this new book by Suzanne Woods Fisher. Usually she writes about the Amish. I like this change of pace.

An Allegory of How to Have a Fuller Relationship with Christ

I remember reading this book when I was in high school. I  love the remake of this book with the new cover and wonderful art work inside the book. Since I homeschool my daughter, we will be utilizing this book as a devotional for our Bible time. I believe everyone should read this book at least once. It will greatly enhance your Christian life.

A Quirky Book of Spoof Fliers

   This book is supposed to be funny spoof fliers. I personally did not get this book at all. I read them to my husband who did not get them either. The only positive things about this book is you can take the cover and the fliers out of the book and frame them. I would say to most people do not waste your time on this book.

A Story Of How the Truth Will Set You Free

  This book starts out in 1933 as a story of best friends. One is from a poor mining family and the other is the daughter of one of the mine owners. There is a lot of things that are evil going on in the small Appalachian town of Beulah Mountain. Both girls would like their town to become right. Fast forward to 2004 one of the girls is now an older woman. Only she knows the secret that happened in 1933 that separated a town and two girls forever. By the telling of the secret she will be set free.

  I enjoyed this book immensely. I didn't want to put it down. It was a book that kept you guessing all of the way to the end. I have found a new best author. I will be keeping Chris Fabry on my list of favorite authors.
