A Boring Book

   I just tried finishing a book called the "Stillness of Chimes". This book was written by Meg Moseley. Laura Gantt  has returned home to Prospect, Georgia to settle her late mothers estate. There is a lot of rumors going around that her father who had gone missing years before is not really dead. Laura was to get to the bottom of the rumors but keeps hitting roadblocks.

  I know a lot of people seemed to really like it. But for me it just seemed to drag on and on. It was one of those books were you wished it would end. It sounded like an intriguing book. But half way through I was struggling to even want to read it. I kept trying to remember who the different characters were in the book. I had to keep going back and forth through the book.

 I was not paid to read this book. This was given to me for an honest review.

Another Week

In My Life This Week-

   There really was not a lot that went on this week. We made it to both church services. This is really hard to do with David going to school and working. We have had a trying week this week in our family. David's dad is in the hospital with early kidney failure. David's granddaddy probably won't make it past this weekend.


In Our Homeschool This Week-

    We have had a good week homeschooling. Maggie seems to be catching on to division. Brendan is still doing well in all his subjects. I might have to rethink his literature.

Helpful Homeschool Advice or Tips to Share-

  If something doesn't work don't be upset or scared to try something else. I have spent literally hundreds of dollars and hours looking for the curriculum that fits my children.

Places We're Going and People We're Seeing-
       
      We are traveling this weekend to see Jacob at Fort Rucker, Alabama. I am not looking forward to the six hour trip. But I am excited to spend some time with my son.


My Favorite Thing This Week Was-

   Working on some doll outfits for Maggie's birthday. I am excited about how far I have come in my sewing.



Questions and Thoughts I have-

   Why do people think they have to hide things from there loved ones? I think people appreciate you more if your honest. I know I handle things better if I am told up front. Then finding out later on.


Things I Am Working On-

   I am working on doll outfits. I finished two outfits, two shorts, and smocked a nightgown. I also cut out 5 different patterns.


I Am Reading-
  
  I am still reading Daddy's Gone A-Hunting by Mary Higgins Clark.

I Am Praying-

    David's grandparents, Pastor, David's new job, our church, David's Dad, Our sons in the Army, Our children at home.

A New School Year

In My Life This Week-    

Nothing new really happened this week. David is still working and in school. We only see him about two hours a day. All of my saltwater fish died this week. Some of them we had for 5 years. It made me sick.

In Our Homeschool This Week-       

We started a new year two weeks ago. Maggie is doing really well. I cut out some things out of her school that was not working. She seems to do well with paces. Brendan is also doing well. We had a rough year last year. So hopefully it will be better this year.

Helpful Homeschool Advice or Tips to Share-

 I hate having to do school in the summer. But with only one car and because it is so hot outside we decided to do it this way. We will be able to be more flexible in our schedules. So I guess my advice is when life throws you lemons make lemonade. Be willing to think outside the norm. This is so hard for me.

Places We're Going and People We're Seeing-

We went to the Aquarium this week. We needed a break. It was another way to get in a homeschooling day. Maggie played in the water until it started thundering and lightening. We also went on a drive Saturday with my parents. It is nice just to drive around and look at different places.

My Favorite Thing This Week Was-

I really didn't have a favorite thing. I did like to play games with the kids we don't normally play. I also love to go to church. I love the music and our preachers preaching.

Questions and Thoughts I have-

Why does God allow things in peoples lives when others who are so wicked seem to never be punished. We had a good family at church this week . The husband died of a massive heart attack. This family is such an encouragement to those around them. They are always serving the Lord. I just don't understand.

Things I Am Working On-

I just finished sew two Bitty Baby outfits. I used a real old pattern. I was afraid they wouldn't turn out. But they came out so cute. This is my contribution for our raffle basket for SAGA.

I Am Reading-

I am reading Daddy's Gone A Hunting by Mary Higgens Clark. So far it has been a little hard to follow.  I usually love her books. So maybe it will get better.

I Am Praying-

for David, Micah, Jacob, David's Grandparents, Pastor, Church and the Elgin Family.
